Ballymacnab Church Choir Launch CD - 17 December

The members of the Ballymacnab Folk Choir and the Ballymacnab Junior Choir have decided to make a recording of their beautiful singing to support the St. Patrick's Church Ballymacnab Restoration Fund. A lot of time, commitment and hard work has gone into rehearsing and recording over the past eight weeks with the creation of a beautiful new CD of songs and music appropriately called "Songs of Love and Praise". Ballymacnab Folk Choir under the expertise and direction of Tony Swift are singing songs such as "Whispering Hope" featuring a duet of Maura McCreesh and Brian Swift and Marie McKernan sings a fabulous version of " Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" . The children in the Junior Choir under the direction of Kathy Kelly perform "Bind Us Together Lord" and "Go Now in Peace. There are also two instrumental pieces Ballymacnab Junior Choir members " Emer Rafferty and Michelle McGeown" play "Here I am Lord" on banjo and tin whistle and Julianne McSorley a member of the Ballymacnab Folk Choir plays "Aeir do Anthony" on the violin. The Ballymacnab Folk Choir have a superb vocal variations and ornamentation with the support of four male voices Vincent Murphy and Monaghan boys Tony and Brian Swift and Tommy Saunders intertwining with the experienced singing voices of Kate Comiskey, Maureen O'Toole, Vera Smyth, Maura McCreesh, Kate Sheridan, Marie McKernan, Eileen Fitzsimmons, Eileen Canavan, Kathy Kelly, Brenda Feighan, Ciara Grew and Grainne McKinney. The Junior Choir members and beautiful singers are Emer Rafferty, Meabh O'Hare, Aoibhin Renaghan, Michelle McGeown, Orla McGeown, Ciara McGeown, Catherine O'Hare, Lucy Gribben and Orlaith Beagan . There is also contributions from guest artists Patricia Hagan, Aiobhean Scullion, Julieannee McSorley and Eilish Canavan. The CD "Songs of Love and Praise" will be launched on Wednesday 17th December at 7.30pm in Ballymacnab Hall. It is a fabulous combination of music and song from both choirs and would make an ideal present for a family member or friend this Christmas. Congratulations to both Choir Directors Tony Swift and Kathy Kelly, musicians Kate Comiskey and Kathy Kelly and to the members of both choirs on taking on such an innovative initiative to raise funds in support of St. Patrick's Church Ballymacnab Renovation Fund.
