BALLYMACNAB ROUND TOWERS GFC Newsletter – 13/02/2017

UNDERAGE TRAINING

Indoor training continues every Saturday at St Patrick's Grammar School for Under 6, 8, 10, 12.5 and 14 teams

Times for age groups:

Under 6&8 (P1-P4) 2-2:45pm (New recruits welcome!)

Under 10&12.5 (P5-1st year) 2:45-3:45pm

Under 14 (boys only) 3:45-5pm

To help cover cost each age group to pay £2, £5 for family of 3 or more. £10 Membership/Registration fee can also be paid at these sessions.

FUNCTIONAL MOVEMENT SCREENING

The Functional Movement Screening (FMS) programme began last week with a good turnout. It continues every Monday at the Clubrooms. All players in 1st Year to Under 18 are to take part. Indoor training gear should be worn.

RESERVES

The Senior Reserves will face Mullaghbawn in Round 1 of the Championship. Date tbc. Also, a note for Reserves, the Club will once again be entering the Belleek Tournament and will face Lissummon in the Semi Final. This game is fixed for Sunday 12 March @2pm in Belleek.

REFEREES

The Club are actively in search of a Club Referee to officiate at underage games. Full training shall be provided. Anyone interested please contact any Committee Member or underage coach.

SENIOR PRESENTATION

The Senior Presentation will be held in Basil Sheils Lounge on Saturday 18 February. Presentations will be made to the 2016 Players of the Year at Under 16 to Senior and the Under 16s shall also be presented with their medals for winning the Division II Shield. Limited tickets still available, so please contact Nelius Boyle asap.

LUCKY NUMBERS

W/c 13/02/17 Lucky numbers were 1-5-11-30. No winner. 1 Match 3s: Christina Crilly Sellers to collect winnings from John McKee. Next Draw – Monday 20/02/17, JACKPOT £5,100 (Rota: NBoyle & MMcGuigan). Tickets can be purchased online via www.klubfunder.com/Clubs/Ballymacnab.

We thank all who currently sell and purchase lotto tickets every week. Your continued support is greatly appreciated and contributes substantially to financing ‘the Club’.

Can you play a part by selling at least 5 tickets every week? Sellers gain entry to a Monthly sellers draw, 1 entry for every 20 tickets sold during the month (draw takes place on the last Monday of each month). Please contact any member of the Committee to get involved. All sold tickets must be left in O’Tooles Bar before 9pm on the night (normally each Monday night) of each weekly draw

MEMBERSHIP

Membership for 2017 should be paid to the Club Registers, Brendan McKee or Seamus McArdle by 17 March 2017. Over 18 £20, Under 18 £10. All existing, lapsed and new members welcome. Paying your membership is an invaluable means of raising fund for the club. All players at all levels are reminded the importance of paying membership for insurance purposes and eligibility for the forthcoming competitive season, both training and games.

ST.BRENDA’S CAMOGIE

Under 14 - Training for next 5 weeks (until St Patrick's weekend) on Wed evenings 7.30-8.30 and Saturday mornings 11am-12.15pm. Any u14 parent wishing to buy a horse or sponsor a race for club fundraising Nite at the Races on Sat 25th Feb please contact Sally 07718920455.Horses £10 Race Sponsors £50.Training on Wednesday at 7.30pm at the field.

Senior - Training on Friday at 7pm sharp in the field.

Indoor Blitzes - St Brenda's will be taking part in the following blitzes at the Meadowbank in Magherafelt. Times TBC by the relevant coach.

                       Under 12 - 26th February.

                       Under 8 and 10 - 19th March. Please note a change of date for under 10s due to All-Ireland club finals.

Annual Dinner Dance - Takes place in Basil Shiels on Saturday 18th February at 7PM, tickets cost £20, please book your ticket with Ann Loughran. Limited number of tickets available. 

Fundraiser - St Brenda's Senior camogs are running a Night at the Races in O'Tooles on Saturday 25th February at 9pm sharp. Please contact any senior player or committee member if you can help by sponsoring a horse at £10 or a race at £50.

Registration - Registration is now due, please contact any committee member for registration forms.

Congratulations - To the St Brenda's girls Eimear Smyth, Molly McKee, Alanna McKee, Aine Smyth, Ellie McKee, Cara Crilly who are all part of the St Patrick's High School senior team who overcame Borrisokane in extra time to earn themselves a place in the All-Ireland final, well done to the girls and management. Best of luck in the final on 04th March - venue TBC.


COMMUNITY

Ballymacnab Dramatic Society presents “The Two Loves of Gabriel Foley. A rip roaring three act comedy by Jimmy Keary. Taking place in Ballymacnab Hall on 17th, 18th, 19th and 24thFebruary. Guaranteed a great night not to be missed! Curtain up at 8.00pm. Admission on the door.

Crochet Class in Ballymacnab Hall every Wednesday 7.30pm – 9.30pm. New members welcome.

Céilí dancing every Thursday in Ballymacnab Hall 8.30pm – 10pm. New beginners welcome.

Eileen Canavan, Ann Gray & Seamus McGivern are hosting a Vintage Afternoon Tea in support of the Armagh Diocesan Lourdes Pilgrimage in Corran Hall on Saturday 18 February from 12 noon – 3pm. All Welcome!
