Ballymacnab Round Towers GFC Weekly Newsletter – 01/08/2016



The Seniors had a 4-10 to 3-06 win over Pearse Og on Sunday. Next game – Friday 5 August @ 730pm at Home to Sarsfields.



Unfortunately we were unable to field for tonights league game away to Sarsfields. No game next week.



Under 16s had a 2-08 to 2-07 win over Keady last week in Division 2A. They have no game this week



The Under 14s had a 4-05 to 2-04 win away to St.Paul’s last week. Next game – Tuesday 2 August @ 730pm against Tir na nOg in Ballymacnab


UNDER 12.5

Training Wednesday 6-7pm. Game on Saturday at Home to Eire Og @ 4pm



Game on Wednesday at Home to Tullysaran @ 630pm. Training on Sunday @ 10-11am.



Training on Sunday 10-11am



The Annual Summer Camp will be held on 22-24 August. The Camp is for boys and girls from P3 (September 16) to current Under 16 players. The cost of the camp is £20 per child, £15 2nd/3rd child etc. Registration forms available via the Website



W/c 01/08/16 Lucky numbers were 8-15-17-19. No winner. 2Match 3: Deirdre Fearon, Fearon Family Ferla. Next Draw – Monday 08/08/16 JACKPOT £11,400 (Rota: BMaguire & TSmyth).



The August Draw will take place on Thursday 4th. All sellers are asked to make their returns by then.



Well done to St.Brenda’s Senior players & management in their fantastic win in the Round 1 of the Championship this evening against Madden.


A massive congratulations to our former player Stevey McGeown who completed the mammoth task of running 60 ultra marathons in 60 day last Saturday. A wonderful achievement, all for a good cause.




P1-P2s- Training Thursday 6.30 - 7.45pm and Saturday morning 11am - 12.15pm.

Under 12- Training Thursday 6.30 - 7.45pm and Saturday morning 11am - 12.15pm.No game on Thursday. We then travel to Dublin on Monday 8th Aug to participate in the Caman to Croker Blitz competition. Contact Kathleen or Feena for details.


Under 14- Both matches cancelled this week due to u14 county games on sat, training on Wednesday night 7.30pm to 8.30pm


Senior- Fantastic opening game to Championship with win over Madden on Monday night. Next round against Granemore. Time & Venue TBC.


Many thanks - to all the underage parents who donated a generous £135 for Autism when supporting Steveys Epic Adventure. We have yellow hands for all those at training last Saturday. A massive well done to all the young camógs who ran with Stevey in Keady and to Molly Hughes, an u12 player, who ran the back roads from Keady to Armagh along with all the other runners. A massive thanks also to Jerome for sponsoring the bus on Saturday.


Summer Camp- St Brenda's and Round Towers Camogie and football summer camp 22nnd - 24th August, 10am - 2pm for girls and boys P3 (in sept) - under 16. Registration forms available at underage training.



Walk continues every Tuesday evening starting at Ballymacnab Hall at 730pm. Everyone welcome to join. Fab turnout last week despite the rain!!!


Saturday 13th August –iCare Purple Run in Gosford Forest Park, Markethill, Co Armagh – a 3k family walk, a 5k run and a competitive, time chipped 10k run. All proceeds raised from the event will be divided between the iCare Heart Defibrillator Campaign and the Craigavon Area Hospital Neo Natal Unit.Please come along with your family and friends and support these fantastic causes and enjoy a great day out.
