BALLYMACNAB ROUND TOWERS GFC Newsletter – 20/03/2017



The Seniors competitive season gets underway on Sunday with a Home game against Tír na nÓg in the Divisional Cup.Throw in @ 1230pm



In preparation for the new season the Under 18s will play Maghery in a challenge game, next Monday (27th) in Ballymacnab.



In preparation for the new season the Under 16s will play St.Patrick’s in a challenge game on Friday @ 7pm



Unfortunately due to the weather the Under 14s challenge game was cancelled. Two challenge games this week: Tuesday away to Silverbridge @7pm and Saturday @ 2pm v Mullaghbawn in Newtown.


UNDER 10+12.5s

Unfortunately due to the weather the first outdoor training was cancelled Sundays. We hope to get going again on Sunday  @10am.



Indoor training for Under 6&8 (P1-P4) 2-2:45pm on Saturday at St.Patrick’s Grammar School. To help cover cost each age group to pay £2.



Season Tickets for the forthcoming Senior League campaign are available at £20. Tickets offer Admission to the 8 HOME Senior league games for 2017. Anyone interested in purchasing a ticket should contact Nelius Boyle or John McKee on Online

We thank all who currently sell and purchase lotto tickets every week. Your continued support is greatly appreciated and contributes substantially to financing ‘the Club’.


Can you play a part by selling at least 5 tickets every week? Sellers gain entry to a Monthly sellers draw, 1 entry for every 20 tickets sold during the month Committee to get involved. All sold tickets must be left in O’Tooles Bar before 9pm (draw takes place on the last Monday of each month).Please contact any member of the on the night (normally each Monday night) of each weekly draw



Membership for 2017 is now due should be paid to the Club Registers, Brendan McKee or Seamus McArdle by 31 March 2017. Over 18 £20, Under 18 £10. There shall be a registration night in the Clubrooms on Friday 24 March 730-830pm. All existing, lapsed and new members welcome. Paying your membership is an invaluable means of raising fund for the club. All players at all levels are reminded the importance of paying membership for insurance purposes and eligibility for the forthcoming competitive season, both training and games.



Well done to all who took part in the Annual St.Patrick’s Day Parade. Thanks to the Hall Committee who provided the refreshments after the parade.



Under 8 and 10 - Training for P3 -P6s this Saturday morning 11.00 -12.15pm please remember water and £1. Under 8s and 10s had a great days camogie at a blitz in the Meadowbank Arena in Magherafelt on Sunday past. We entered 2 under 8 teams and 1 under 10 team and played against teams from Bellaghy, Creggan, Dungiven, Drum, Castledawson and Cargin. A great days camogie and fun was had by all. Many thanks to Sinead Mallon, Orla O'Hare, Kathleen O'Hare, Sinead Rice and Eileen Canavan for making the day happen!! Training for P1s and P2s starting on Saturday 22nd April.


Under 12 - Are taking part in a Camann to Ulster blitz inGarvaghy  Centre of Excellence in County Tyrone this Saturday 25th March 111am-1pm. Feena will be in contact with further details.


Under 14 - Training on Wednesday night 7.15 - 8.15pm and Saturday morning 12.00 - 1.00pm. Please remember water and £1s. Armagh County Feile takes place on Saturday 01st April.


Under 16 - Training Monday night 8.30 - 9.30pm, Wednesday 7.30 -8.30 and Saturday 12.30 - 1.30pm. First league game away v Blaney on Tuesday 28th march.


Senior - Training on Monday at 6.45 and league commences this Wednesday 22nd March  v Derrylaughan with a home game at 7pm.


Registration - Registration is now due, over 18s £50 and all under 18s is £25. Registration fee is made up of player insurance, fee to Croke Park, fee to Ulster Council and fee to Armagh County Board and the club covers the deficit.


Recycling - Please use the recycling clothes bin situated in the carpark, proceeds go towards the upkeep of the changing rooms.



“The Green Lady Mystery – An Armagh Victorian murder case”. The Cumann Staire Cill Chluana History Group are hosting a talk on the Annie Slavin tragedy by Sean Barden on Tuesday 21st March 2017 at 8pm in Ballymacnab Hall


Crochet Class in Ballymacnab Hall every Wednesday 7.30pm – 9.30pm. New members welcome.


Céilí dancing every Thursday in Ballymacnab Hall 8.30pm – 10pm. New beginners welcome.
