BALLYMACNAB ROUND TOWERS GFC Newsletter – 24/07/17

SENIOR

Well done to the Seniors who secured promotion back to Division 1A after a 1-17 to 1-13 win over Annaghmore and a 2-18 to 4-12 draw with Dromintee. Their final league game is on Friday away to Wolfe Tones @730pm

RESERVES

No game last week. Preparation focused on the Championship Final v Madden on Wednesday 2 August

UNDER 18

The Minors concluded their league campaign last night with a 4-17 to 5-10 win over Ballyhegan. Next game will be in the Championship in August when they face the winners of O’Doirnin Blues/Madden

UNDER 16

The Under 16s have 2 games this week: Thursday away to Silverbridge in the League @ 730pm and then on Sunday they travel to Clan na Gael for a Quarter Final tie in the Championship @630pm

UNDER 14

The Under 14s had a good win tonight beating Ballyhegan 3-11 to 5-04. They have another league game on Friday at home to Maghery @730pm

UNDER 12.5

Training resumes on Sunday @ 10am

UNDER 6, 8 & 10

Training resumes on Sunday @ 10am

SUMMER CAMP

The Annual Summer Camp will be held on 21-23 August. The Camp is for boys and girls from P3 (September 17) to current Under 16 players. The cost of the camp is £20 per child, £15 2nd/3rd child etc up to a max of £50 per family. Registration forms available via the Website or Team Coaches. Please return forms to underage coaches, no later than 31 July. Forms can be downloaded via:www.ballymacnab.armagh.gaa.ie/home/downloads-and-videos

Under 14 - League match v Derrynoose Tues eve 25th July 6.15pm in Derrynoose. Girls are top of league so hopefully will continue in their winning ways. Training Wednesday 7.30 -8.30 and Saturday 12.15 -1.30pm. (note: u14 match v Keady that had been rescheduled from 15th Aug to Thurs 27th July is to be changed, re-fixed date will be notified in due course)

 

Under 16 - Training continues on Wednesdays 7.30 -8.30pm and Saturday 12.15 - 1.30pm. Next match foru16s is Kilkeel 9-aside tournament on 20th Aug

 

Under 18 - Match v Tullysarren Fri 28th (home venue). Throw in time not yet known

 

Seniors - No game this week.

 

County u16s through to Ulster Final: Well done to Ballymacnab players Ellie Mckee and Cara Crilly who both played their part in Armagh's fabulous win over Down in Ulster semi-final on scoreline of 5-17 to 2-6. Well done also to senior player Ciara Hayes who is on the county u16 management team. Good luck in Ulster final girls.

 

Good luck to Mullabrack ladies u14s in their Championship match on Monday 24th against Carrickcruppin. 14 of the team are St Brenda's players.

 

Armagh football - Best of luck to Armagh and especially Ballymacnab's Rory Grugan and Gavin McParland as Armagh take on the Lilywhites on Saturday.

 

Recycling - Please use the recycling bin situated in the carpark at the pitch to recycle old school uniforms etc

Save the Date - The football and camogie clubs are hosting a joint "Gala Night" in the Hillgrove Hotel on Saturday 10th March 2018 to celebrate Gaelic Games and Culture in Ballymacnab. More details to follow in the following weeks.

Crochet - Classes in Ballymacnab Hall every Wednesday 7.30pm – 9.30pm. New members welcome.

 

Céilí - dancing every Thursday in Ballymacnab Hall 8.30pm – 10pm. New beginners welcome.
