Ballymacnab Round Towers GFC Weekly Newsletter – 29/08/2016


Our Seniors had a terrific 1-15 to 0-16 win over Harps in R1 of the Championship last Friday night. The draw for R2 has been made and we shall face Clann Eireann on the weekend of the 9 September.



The Under 16s had a 2-13 to 2-06 win over Mullagbawn in the Quarter Final of the Shield. They now face Keady in the Semi Final to be played on Sunday 4 September in Ballymacnab @7pm. The Under 16s also have a League game on Thursday when they take on St.Peter’s in Ballymacnab @ 7pm



The Under 14s face Dromintee on Tuesday in the Semi Final of the Shield in Ballymacnab @ 7pm. They also have a League game on Friday 2nd away to St.Patrick’s @ 7pm.

The Under 12s lost to Loughgilly Gaels last week. Training Wednesday 630-730pm & Sunday 10-11am

The Club hosted a very successful 3 day Training Camp last week. Well done to all the boys and girls who took part and a special word of thanks to all the coaches, who gave up their time voluntarily.



Our Underage Committee have organised a 'Golf Football 4 Ball Tournament' in Newry Golf Course on Saturday 3 September. The rules are the same as normal 4 ball golf only kicking a football over the 18 holes! Anyone wishing to take part please contact Mickey Beagan on 07749541288. If you have not got a group of 3 others to play with, you will be put into a group of 4. All Under 14s must be accompanied by an adult. We hope to have a big turnout and this is a great opportunity for former greats to get the boots back on and strut their stuff alongside current senior and underage players. Mickey will also give you your kick off time. A great days craic lies in store and all for only £10 per player. There will be prizes for adult partners with the best score as well as the best adult & child partners

The Draw for the 2 Cusack Stand Tickets All-Ireland HURLING Final + overnight Accommodation (Saturday night) will take place in O’Tooles Bar @ 930pm on Thursday 1 September. Any outstanding tickets (sold & unsold) should be returned to the Clubrooms on Wednesday 31 August, 730-830pm. Tickets are available Committee Members and Senior players and can also be purchased online.

 P1-P2s - Training Thursday 6.30 - 7.45pm and Saturday morning 11 -12.15.


Under 8 and 10 -  Training Thursday 6.30 - 7.45 and Saturday morning 11-12.15.


Under 12 - Training on Wednesday 6.30 - 7.45. League final this Saturday v Derrynoose in Granemore at 12 mid-day.


Under 14 - Training Wednesday at half 7. An away League fixture v Madden on Thursday the 01st September at 7 o'clock.


Under 16 -  Had a fantastic victory against St Brigids which has earned them a place in the final next Tuesday 06th September v Keady. Time and venue TBC . Training on Wednesday at 7pm.

 Senior - No league fixture this week.


All - Ireland Camogie Final - There is a supporters bus going from St Brenda’s, anyone wishing to book seats and/or order tickets please contact any committee member.


Meet and Greet - the Armagh camogie team in the Ceannáras on Tuesday 31st August from 6.30pm.


Fabulous turnouts for the weekly walk leaving from Ballymacnab Community Hall on a Tuesday evening at 7.30pm around the beautiful Seaghan Dam along the new walking path approx. 4.7K. Everyone welcome to come along and join in.


The Annual Kilcluney Parish Vintage Day is being held on Sunday 4th September in the field opposite St. Patrick’s Church Ballymacnab. Come along and see butter making, the corn being cut by horse and threshing to name but a few. Fabulous activities for all the family. See attached poster for full details of activities.
