Our minor team took on Sarsfields on Monday evening in what proved to be ‘A game of two halves!’ Sarsfields opened the scoring with a point before Kieran Hughes (2), Finnén Maguire and Aodhan Toner (2) put the lads 4 in front. Sarsfields responded with their second point before three from Aodhan Toner, two goals from Kieran Hughes and a point from Tiarnán McArdle stretched the ‘Nabs lead. Sarsfields ended the half with two more to leave the Round Towers 10 up at half time. If Ballymacnab had ruled the first half it was the visitors who dominated the second, hitting 1-1 early on before Kieran Hughes got his sides first score of the half. Sarsfields added 1-4 without reply to leave just one point between the sides. However, Tiarnán 'Ogie' McArdle broke the Sarsfields momentum with a point before the full time whistle blew on a score line of 2-10 to 2-08 to Ballymacnab. The lads had done enough to hold on in the second half to earn the important two points with Oisin McGivern giving a man of the match performance.
