Our under 16s met An Port Mor in the replay of their Championship 1st Round on Sunday. Extra time was played after normal time in the first game while this game also went down to the wire. An Port Mor opened the scoring with a point before Caoimhin Rafferty levelled the game. Ryan Watters then stretched the lead to two with a point. The game was soon level again however when An Port Mor scored a second. The ‘Nab then went four up with a Brian Murdoch point and a Ryan Watters goal. An Port Mor got a third point before two Ryan Watters points ended the half with Ballymacnab leading 1-5 to 0-3. An Port Mor started the half perfectly with a converted penalty before Ryan Watters split the posts from the dead ball. The visitors then got another point before Oisin McGivern registered a point. An Port Mor then tagged on another two to leave the minimum between the sides. Oisin McGivern stretched the lead to four with a well taken goal before An Port Mor levelled, scoring 1-1 in quick succession. Brian Murdoch put his team in the lead before the sides were level once more. Another Brian Murdoch point left the ‘Nab leading by one before two points in the final moments by An Port Mor left the final score 2-10 to 2-9 to An Port Mor. The lads put in a huge effort throughout the two games with Ryan Watters the star performer for the Ballymacnab in this replay.
