Granemore 0-11 Ballymacnab 0-10

The Reserves lost narrowly to neighbours Granemore in a typical fashioned derby on Wednesday evening. Very little could separate the sides throughout with the sides level on seven separate occasions throughout the game. Ballymacnab held a slight advantage at the interval, leading 0-05 to 0-04 with Chris Loughran (2) and Brendan Toner (3) grabbing the scores. As the game swung to and fro Ballymacnab led by two by the 52nd minute but the homeside finished stronger kicking four unanswered points before a Brendan Toner free on the 60th minute reduced the margin to the minimum. Despite a late rally from the lads they were unable to get the vital score that they deserved to give a share of the points. Best of the night were substitute Joe Kennedy who had a great performance in the defence while Marty O’Hare and Niall Cosgrove contributed a lot in the second half. Brendan Toner showed great accuracy from dead ball while Chris Loughran and Declan McCone were most dangerous of the attackers.
