It was with deep saddened from all at the Club to learn of the death of our former Committee Member Paddy Delaney who passed away on Monday 22 September 2014. Paddy was a diligent and committed member of the Committee for many years, especially during the lead up to and including the Official Opening of Pairc na Gael in 1981 and the instalment of the floodlights two years later and continued to be a firm supporter of the club and teams down through the year and right up to present day.
Outside of football, Paddy was a great community man and took a special interest in the Ballymacnab Drama Society and was involved with many productions behind the scenes as the ‘Sounds Man’.
As a mark of respect the players observed a minutes silence at the Championship Quarter Final tie on 28 September in Paddys memory.
We offer our deepest sympathy to his wife Margaret, daughter Patricia, his brother Frank and the entire Delaney family.
