Scór na nÓg Final - Sunday 27/11/11

Well done to the various acts that represented Ballymacnab Round Towers GFC and St Brenda’s Camogie Club at Saturday nights Scór na nÓg Semi Final in Mullaghbawn. The level of competition was exceptional high and although the Ballymacnab representatives provided a range of very enjoyable entertainment on the night several acts did not make it through to the final.

There were however successes for the quiz teams made up of Tiernan Smyth, Meabh Smyth and Eimear Fearon whilst Finnien Maguire, Oisin Fearon and Kieran Hughes were pipped at the post. The set dancing team of Roise & Brid Hughes, Molly & Ellie McKee, Eimear & Aine Smyth and Tierna Maguire and Maired Rice were very good but were up against several more experienced acts from the south Armagh clubs.

The instrumental group of Eoin Smyth, Eimear Fearon, Tiernan Smyth, Meabh Smyth and Pearse Toner were outstanding and go through to county final with their Mullaghbawn counterparts. Niamh Rafferty delivered her enjoyable recitation with great poise to also make it through but Annie Smyth who gave an excellent performance Wee Hughie was also pipped at the post. The ballad group of Eoin Smyth, Eimear Fearon, Rioghnagh McArdle, Meave McArdle and Brid Hughes were very good but unfortunately were really up against it in this highly competitive event and didn’t get through while solo singer Eimear Fearon was excellent but again came up against seriously tough opposition.

And so the quiz team, instrumental group and Niamh Rafferty (recitation) go on to take part in the county final in St Catherine’s College on Sunday 27th November at 6.30pm. Everyone is asked to come along for a really enjoyable night’s entertainment and to give the local competitors their support.
