An Port Mor 1-10 Ballymacnab 2-14

Our U16 side took on An Port Mor on Thursday in a league fixture. Ballymacnab opened the scoring with a pointed free from Shane McClelland. An Port Mor answered with a point of their own before Ryan Watters got his first of 7 in the game. Two An Port Mor points were followed by another Ryan Watters point and a Conor O'Hanlon goal, both scores created by the captain Oisin McGivern. Brian Murdoch stretched his sides lead to 6 when he rattled the back of the net. An Port Mor responded with two points before Oisin McGivern burst through the defence to put the ball over the bar and leave the score 2-4 to 0-6 at half time. An Port Mor scored the first point of the second half before points from Harry Rafferty, Ryan Watters and Oisin McGivern left 6 the margin was more. The Nabs lead was soon halved however when An Port Mor got a goal of their own. However, Ballymacnab responded in superb fashion with points from Ryan Watters (2) and Oisin McGivern restoring their sides comfortable lead. Conor O'Hanlon and the unstoppable Ryan Watters ended the scoring for the match with the final score 2-14 to 1-10 in favour of the Nab. A good start to the second tier of the league and hopefully lads can build on this.
