BALLYMACNAB ROUND TOWERS GFC Newsletter – 11/09/17


SENIOR

Our Seniors are back in Championship action on Saturday when they will face Madden in the Quarter Final @ 5pm in the Athletic Grounds. Best of luck to all the lads and management.


UNDER 18

Well done to the Minor players and manager Cormy Gribben who have progressed to the Division 3 Championship Final after a 4-13 to 3-11 win over Ballyhegan tonight. The lads will now meet Carrickcruppen in the Final


UNDER 14

The Under 14s finished off their season with a win at home to Silverbridge last week. Well done to all the lads & their management team of Michael & Peter Beagan.


UNDER 12.5

UNDER 10       

The Under 10s took part in a Blitz last week in Pearse Og. In the group stage they drew with Granemore and lost to Scotstown and Culloville. After a win against Grange in the Plate competition, we lost 5-3 to Granemore in the Semi Final. 16 players were in attendance. They shall take part in Tullysaran’s Blitz this Saturday. Training on Wednesday 630-730pm, NO training on Sunday.


UNDER 8

The Under 8s had a excellent game against Newtown on Sunday.

 

UNDER 6 

The Under 6s got a special treat at their recent training session when Rory Grugan attended to take them through their paces!

 

SUMMER CAMP

We have a number of Club crested gloves left from the Summer Camp. Anyone who would like to purchase a pair, contact Michael Beagan. Price £10


COUCH 2 5K

Due to popular demand The Couch 2 5k programme is back!!!

Commenced on Tuesday 5 September @630pm and continuing on Tuesdays & Thursdays (630pm) and Sundays @10am for 9 weeks within the Club Grounds. £1 per run. This is a fantastic initiative which gives people of all ages, both male and female, to get out, get some exercise while supporting the club! Run/walk/jog, whatever suits your ability. Starting line: at ‘Stand’ within grounds

 

CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES

The Club are hosting IFC games on Friday: @730pm St.Paul’s v Shane O’Neills and next Monday @730pm Forkhill v Middletown . Much help is needed with stewarding/selling of tickets/shop. Anyone who can lend a hand would be much appreciated.

ST.BRENDA’S CAMOGIE CLUB

 

Under 6s 8s and 10s - Funday takes place this Saturday 16th September, bus leaves the pitch at 10.30am sharp heading to Cheeky Monkeys in Newry.

 

Under 12 - Funday took place last Saturday to JumpBoxx Banbridge, a good day was had by all. The winter programme begins on Tuesday 3rd October in Keady Recreation Centre 7 -8pm.

 

Under 16 - Semi-final of the championship v St Brigids takes place this Tuesday 12th September at half 6 in the Nab. All support greatly appreciated.

 

Congratulations - to our under 14 camogs who won All-Ireland medals at the blitz in Dublin on Saturday past, winning all group games and defeating Cork in the final - Emer Rafferty, Kate Crilly, Meabh O'Hare, Ellen Lennon and Eabha Lennon. Also, Caiti Loughran who was playing with the development squad and won 2 of their 3 group games. These girls are great role models for our underage camogs in St Brenda's and we're all very proud of your achievements.

 

Good luck - to the RoundTowers senior men in the quarter final clash with Madden on Saturday evening.

 

Fundraiser - The launch of our winter fundraiser takes place this Friday night 15th September in O'Tooles - Play Your Cards Right, with host Jemmy Loughran, kicking off at 9pm, prize money £100. Sure to be mighty craic, plenty of fun and lucky for some!!!
