BALLYMACNAB ROUND TOWERS GFC Newsletter – 13/05/2019


 


SENIORS


The Seniors got back to winning ways with a 3-13 to 1-11 win over Killeavy on Sunday past. First half goals from Gavin McParland (2) and Jack Grugan followed by an all round team effort saw the lads record the win. There is no game this weekend. We send our best wishes to Chris Loughran and wish him a speedy recovery from the injury he picked up in the game.


 


RESERVES


The Reserves had a comfortable 1-23 to 2-06 win last week against Grange. They have no game next week.


 


UNDER 18½


The Under 18½ travelled to Tir na nÓg last night and although lead at the break they were defeated 3-16 to 3-06 by the final whistle. There are no games until Monday 10 June due to the exam break.


 


UNDER 16½


The Under 16 ½ continued their good form last week with a 3-15 to 1-12 win over Loughgilly Gaels. Championship action gets under way on Thursday when we face St.Peter’s at home in the Preliminary Round @715pm. Best of luck to all players and management.


 


UNDER 14 ½


The Under 14 ½s put in a tremendous effort at Forkhill tonight, scoring 7-14! However this was not enough to record the win as the home side hit 8-12!   


 


UNDER 12 ½


The Under 12 ½ game against An Port Mor wasn’t played last week and will be refixed. On Saturday they face Granemore Away @4pm.


 


UNDER 10 ½


The Under 10½ have had another busy 7 days. They played Granemore last Wednesday, participated in the St.Peter’s Blitz on Saturday and face Tullysaran at Home tomorrow @730pm


 


UNDER 8½-6½TEAMS


Training on Wednesday, 7-8pm. The Under 8½ will play Pearse Og at Home on Saturday @1230pm.

Best wishes and Good Luck to our County players Rory Grugan and Ryan Kennedy in Armagh’s First Round Ulster Championship tie on Sunday.

COUCH 2 5K


The ‘Couch 2 5k’ programme is back up and running and continues every Tuesday & Thursday (630pm) and Sundays (10am). PLEASE park in Church grounds. The Couch to 5K is a training plan that gradually progress towards a 5k run (Sunday 23 June). All abilities and ages catered for. £1 donation per run/walk, buggy friendly. Great opportunity to get some exercise and raise money for Club Funds. Further info via the Club Facebook Page.

ST.BRENDA’S CAMOGIE CLUB


U6/8/10


The girls have mini games against St Brigid's on Tuesday 14th May in Sherry's Field.  Girls are to meet at 6.15pm for games beginning at 6.30pm.


Training also continues Saturday morning from 11-12 noon.


 


U12 


St. Brenda's hosted the blitz on Saturday past, securing wins against Derrynoose, Castleblaney & Cross seconds, and drawing with Cross first team.  There will also be a blitz this Saturday, venue TBC.


 


U14


Congratulations to our U14 girls and management who have progressed to the Championship Final after beating Crossmaglen tonight on a score line of 3-2 to 1-4. Well done girls.


 


U16  


Training continues Wednesday evening from 7-8pm.


 


SENIORS


Our seniors have two league fixtures this week.  First up on Wednesday they take on Clontibret, this is an away fixture and throw in is at 7.30pm.  On Friday they take on Crossmaglen, also away @730pm
