Crossmaglen were the visitors to Pairc na Gael on Sunday for Round 3 of the Senior League. The visitors got off to a flying start and from an attack straight from the throw in resulted in a goal after less than a minutes play. This was followed by three consecutive points before a Gavin McParland pointed free got his side off the mark on the 7th minute. Cross' continued their dominance, aided by the breeze and led by 8 by the 20th minute. On the 22nd minute, a perfect pass from Rory Grugan found Gavin McParland free and as he cut inside his marker his initial shot was saved by the 'keeper but managed to scramble the ball over the line from the rebound to give his side a much needed lift. However, Cross' finished off strongest and added 1-2 before the half time break to lead 2-8 to 1-1.

Ballymacnab started the second half brightly with Brian McCone tapping over a free. With the opposition now defending admirably, the 'Nab found it difficult to break down and another Brian McCone free on the 46th reduced the deficit. Crossmaglen got their first score of the half ten minutes from time with a pointed free. James Gray chipped in with a point on the 52nd minute before the visitors added another goal and point by the 56th minute. Rory Grugan got his name on the score sheet on the 57th minute with a point and two minutes later turned provider to set up his brother Jack who finished with a goal after an excellent catch on the edge of the square. A disappointing result when the 'Nab played below their power but there were good performances from Ruairi Gribben and Paudi Crilly while new breed Gareth Wattters, John McManus and Shane McCone got a taste of senior level.
