Granemore defeat Under 16's (19/04/12)

Ballymacnab 0-06 Granemore 1-07


The Under 16’s faced Granemore last Thursday evening and although not much could separate the sides until the final ten minutes when the visitors edged out the victory. Ballymacnab opened the scoring for the game when Stephen King split the posts from an early free kick. Granemore answered with a goal followed by two points to leave the margin at four points. A long sideline kick from Oisin McGivern into Michael O’Hare was punched away, only as far as Shaun Casey who got the Nab back on the scoreboard. Then Michael O’Hare got his first of the game to leave the half time score at Granemore 1-2 to Ballymacnab’s 3 points. Stephen King once again opened the scoring with a point from the dead ball before Michael O’Hare got his second of the evening to level the game at 1-3 to 6. Granemore got their first of the second half before the Nab equalised once more through Stephen King. This was to be Ballymacnab’s last score of the evening as Granemore then started to take control of the game and five unanswered points saw the final score of 1-7 to 6 points in favour of Granemore.
