UNDER 18 LEAGUE

Clan na Gael 1-10 Ballymacnab 2-13

Our minor team travelled to Clan na Gael on Monday evening for the first game in the series after the split in the leagues. Clan na Gael set the pace early with 6 unanswered points.. The ‘Nab eventually responded when Kieran Hughes’ rebounded a penalty kick to the back of the net. Ballymacnab then went in front with points from Kieran Hughes, Finnén Maguire, Stephen King and Tiarnán ‘Ogie’ McArdle, stretching the lead to one. Two points from Clan na Gael were followed by points from Finnén Maguire and a brilliant point from Conor Leonard to leave the half time score 1-06 to 0-08. Clan na Gael levelled with the opening score of the second half before Tiarnán ‘Ogie’ McArdle put his side one up once again. Kieran Hughes doubled the lead with another point before the home side responded with a goal of their own. However, Ballymacnab responded in the best possible way with a Kieran Hughes goal. This was followed by points from Kieran Hughes (3) and Oisin McGivern which left the final score 2-13 to 1-10 in favour of the boys in maroon. A strong second half performance saw the lads earn the two points with Kieran Hughes and Conor Leonard on top form.
