Pearse Og 1-11 Ballymacnab 0-11

Our reserve team meet Pearse Ogs in the third round of the league and were trying to make the record three out of three. They got off to the best start when Tony McKee's effort at goal was palmed over the bar by the Pearse Ogs goalkeeper. The Ogs then responded with four unanswered points before rattling home a goal. Shortly afterward Gary McKee busted through the Ogs defence only to hit the bar and had to settle for a point. Pearse Ogs finished the half with three more points to leave the half time score 1-7 to 2 points. Ogs then increased the margin to nine with the first point of the half. Gary McKee pointed from the dead ball before Ogs responded another point. Two Marty O'Toole frees were followed by two pointed frees from the boot of Gary McKee to put four between the sides and when Damien McGeown got on the scoreboard with a  point it left only a goal separating the sides. Gary McKee exchanged late free with the Ogs attack and although Ballymacnab made a strong comeback in the second half they just couldn't get level. Good performances all round especially that of Gareth Watters and Gary McKee. Next up is a home tie in the Championship on Wednesday 16th.
