Reserves ease pass Maghery in Championship (14/05/14)

RESERVE SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP PRELIM ROUND

BALLYMACNAB 3-15 MAGHERY 0-05

Our Reserves progressed to the Quarter Finals of the Championship with a comprehensive win over Maghery in Paric na Gael on Wednesday evening.

Points from Kieran Hughes and Paul Kennedy gave the 'Nab an early lead before Kieran Hughes fired home a goal on the 11th minute. Richard Gribben followed up with a point before the visitors registered three unanswered points. Points from Richard Gribben, Kieran Hughes and Fearghal Nugent gave Ballymacnab a 1-6 to 0-3 lead at the break.

Ballymacnab continued their dominance in the second half with some excellent points from Kieran Hughes, Paul Kennedy, Fearghal Nugent, Finnen Maguire and Rory Gray along with another Kieran Hughes goal and a Fearghal Nugent goal also.

Defensively Ballymacnab were strong with experienced campaigners Chris Kennedy and Paudi Beagan leading the way aided by Colm McKee and Cormac Gribben. Richard Gribben put in a great effort over the hour at midfield while in attack Ballymacnab were a constant threat. They now face Madden in the next round.
