Ballymacnab travelled to Derrytrasna on Saturday evening for this refixed league game. Conditions were poor due to the recent poor weather but both sides adapted as best they could.

James Gray got the ‘Nab off to a good start with a point within the first minute. Sarsfields were quick to respond with three points in between two pointed frees from Brian McCone to leave the sides tied on the 20th minute. Ballymacnab began to grab the initiative and scores from Pauric Gribben and James Gray edged the ‘Nab back in front. Once again Sarsfields responded with another point before finding the net on the 25th minute. However, Ballymacnab replied with a Sean McArdle point just before the interval to leave his side trailing by one at the break.

Sarsfields dominated the early stages of the second half and took control of the scoreboard, hitting five unanswered points by the 41st minute. Points from Brian McCone and Joe Gribben reduced the deficit with points as the Round Towers tried to claw themselves back into the game but also had now to re-jig their defence due to injuries to Barry O’Hare and Ruairí Gribben. This was short lived as Sarsfields hit three points in a row before a second goal on the 23rd minute but the game over as a contest.
