A bright and sunny Pairc na Gael was setting for our seniors second home game of the season. A poor first half performance from Ballymacnab left themselves an uphill task for the second which they were unable to recovery from.

Clann Eireann raced into an early lead, punishing the 'Nab's errors, matched with some expert free taking. On the 12th minute things got worse from a Ballymacnab's prospect when a cross field shot ended with the ball being fisted to the net. Ballymacnab registered their first score with a point coming from Joe Gribben after Brian McCone collected a loose ball. Gavin McParland followed up with a pointed free after a good move involving Brian McCone, Brendan Toner and Pauric Gribben until a foul on McCone. Clann Eireann added a further point before a pointed free from Brian McCone on the 21st  minute after a foul on Pauric Gribben. Clann Eireann added a further point before adding another goal after 26 minutes of play. Points from Gavin McParland and Brian McCone just before the interval left 10 points between the sides.

Ballymacnab’s fortunes did not improve in the opening minutes of the second half when the visitors added two further points in between a point for Joe Gribben. As the lads tried to rally themselves they added points from Gavin McParland (2) and Joe Gribben. Trailing by 9 with ten minutes remaining the ‘Nab pressed hard to reduce the deficit and two points from Gavin McParland did do so but by the final whistle Clann Eireann still had too much to spare.
