SENIOR LEAGUE
HARPS 2-22
BALLYMACNAB 1-11
Our seniors travelled to Armagh Harps for a league tie on Friday
evening. A below par performance from the lads saw the home side produce their
best and recorded a comfortable win on the scoreboard. Harps dominated the early exchanges, racing into a 6-0 lead and it wasn't until
14th minute that Ballymacnab got off the mark with a point from Ryan
Kennedy after linking well with Michael Beagan and Brian McCone. This score
kick started the 'Nab into action and after a Gavin McParland point on the 16th
minute, Pauric Gribben burst through from the resulting kick out and lobbed the
'keeper for the first goal of the game. Paul Kennedy won the kick out and set
up another attack, resulting in a Brian McCone point to level the game after 18
minutes. The teams remained level in the next few attacks with another Brian
McCone point followed a point for the Harps. Ballymacnab went into a quick two
point lead with a pointed free from Brian McCone and a Damien McGeown point
from play. However, Harps finished the half well with points, in between
another from Ryan Kennedy, to lead 0-12 to 1-07. Michael Beagan got Ballymacnab
off to a perfect start with a point within a minute from the restart but Harps
went on to dominate the remainder of the half with Ballymacnab responding on
the scoreboard with pointed frees from Gavin McParland and Brian McCone.
