SENIOR LEAGUE
CROSSMAGLEN 2-19 BALLYMACNAB 0-11
Our Seniors played two games last week in the league, travelling firstly
to Crossmaglen on Thursday night.
Ballymacnab made an encouraging start with Brian McCone, Joe Gribben,
Damien McGeown and Gavin McParland all getting on the score sheet in the opening
10 minutes against two points for the opposition. Gavin McParland added another
point on the 13th minute but the sides were level by the 16th minute with three
unanswered by the home side. Driven by the fine fielding of Pauric Gribben
Ballymacnab took the lead once more with two converted frees from Gavin
McParland and two from play from Brian McCone. However, Cross' finished the
half strongest and led 10-9 at the break.
Crossmaglen extended their lead with three unanswered points before a
Brian McCone pointed free on the 37th minute reduced the deficit. The home side
continued to dominant in the second half and two goals in the space of 5 minute
gave them a commanding lead which they held on to until the final whistle.
