Ballymacnab travelled to Killeavy on Friday evening for their latest tie in the Senior League. In a tight fought game the Round Towers did enough to deservedly claim the two valuable league points.

Dominic McParland got the 'Nab off the mark after only two minutes, when his solo run saw him in front of goals and tapped over a point from 35 yards out. Killeavy got their first score on the 5th minute with a point but a 45 meter kick from Brian McCone put the 'Nab back in front. A point for the home sides levelled matters once more but as the 'Nab began to get on top of things in defence the forwards added points from James Gray, Brian McCone (2) and Gavin McParland to give a four point lead. On the 14th minute Killeavy were awarded a penalty when 'keeper Sean Hughes pulled down the opponents attacker but Sean redeemed himself with a wonderful save at the expense of a 45 meter kick, which was converted. From the restart Ballymacnab went on the attack once more and a high ball into the attack was flicked down by Gavin McParland to the on running Tony Gribben who curled over his sides seventh point. Killeavy added two points an only another excellent save from Sean Hughes kept the home side goalless. However, the 'Nab finished strong and a brace of points from Pauric and Joe Gribben gave Ballymacnab a 9-5 lead at half time.

Ballymacnab got the best start possible in the second half with virtually their first attack when Tony Gribbens pass to Gavin McParland saw him fire to the net. The Round Towers failed to build on this lead and five unanswered points left just two between the sides by the 44th minute. Jack Grugan responded with a point two minutes later and another top class save from Sean Hughes denied the home side again. This gave the 'Nab a much needed lift and a Paudi Crilly point increased the margin. Killeavy hit back with three unanswered despite having been reduced to fourteen men. In a nail biting finish, Ballymacnab did enough to secure the league points and two Jack Grugan points, in between one for Killeavy, help the lads to victory.
