SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND 1

BALLYMACNAB 1-17 CULLOVILLE 1-11

Our seniors progressed to the next round of the Championship after a hard fought win over Culloville on Saturday evening in Cullyhanna.

Ballymacnab got off to a good start with points from Ryan Kennedy (2) and Brian McCone before Culloville registered their first score on the 7th minute. A Jack Grugan pointed free three minutes later was followed by two from the opposition before a point from Dee McGeown and converted frees from Brian McCone and Jack Grugan gave the 'Nab a four point lead by the 24th minute. Culloville came back with a point but scores from Brian McCone and Tony McKee before the break left Ballymacnab leading 9-4.

Culloville made a bright start to the second half with five points in between two from Brian McCone to leave two between the sides on the 47th minute.  Culloville continued with their momentum and followed up with a goal and two points to lead by three on the 51st minute. Brian McCone hit back with a pointed free a minute later and in a further two minutes  the 'Nab foundthe back on the net, with the goal coming from Joe Gribben. This gave the lads a much needed lift and they finished the strongest with Pauric Gribben (2), Brian McCone, BT and Dee McGeown all getting on the score sheet.
