Our Seniors last home game of the season saw them defeated by Whitecross at a wet and windy Pairc Na nGael. Despite the conditions both teams tried to adapt as best they could with Whitecross eventually running out winners by four points.

The visitors got off to a good start when after only two minutes had the ball in the net. Both teams had opportunities to add scores in the opening minutes but the wind played havoc with scores going a miss. Ryan Kennedy curled over a point for the Round Towers on the 9th minute. A point for Whitecross on the 14th minute increased their lead but a Brian McCone free cancelled out that score. On the 21st minute the visitors broke through the ‘Nab’s rear guard and finished with a second goal. Ballymacnabs response was almost immediate and a move involving James Gray, Brian McCone and Rory Grugan saw Joe Gribben finish off with a goal. Two points before the interval to the men in green saw Whitecross leading 1-02 to 2-04.

Whitecross increased their lead at the restart with another point. For the rest of the half the game turned into a scrappy affair with neither team really dominating. James Gray added a point for his side on the 42nd minute before three unanswered points for the ‘cross. A long searching ball into the attack saw James Gray collect and turned with a burst of speed and finished off with a well taken goal. Ryan Kennedy followed up with a point but the visitors held on to claim the two league points.
